About Us

H2Vin was founded in 2009 by Christian Honorez and Master Sommelier Matt Wilkin. Christian has a vast knowledge of the industry and experience of sourcing authentic and individual wines; whilst Matt was South Australia's first Master Sommelier and has won many accolades including UK Sommelier of the Year in 2005. The enthusiastic pair complement each other in every way and together have established H2Vin's enviable reputation for offering an exceptional range of wines to restaurants, hotels and independent wine merchants across the UK.

@MattWilkinMS

Matt Wilkin is South Australia’s first Master Sommelier and one of 236 globally. Following 10 years building on restaurant & wine experience in his native Australia, he moved to the UK in 1998 where he worked as the Head Sommelier at the Michelin two-starred Capital Hotel & Restaurant before moving on as Group Wine Buyer for The Hotel Knightsbridge Ltd six London based restaurants; during this phase also working several Stages at a time throughout the Loire & Bordeaux wine regions from 2000 to 2005.

Christian Honorez, Director

@CHonorez

Hailing from the Rhône Valley in France Christian Honorez was no doubt destined for a career in quality wine, one which took him from the roots of the catering industry as a chef at Lou Miradou (Cavaillon, 2 Michelin forks) which he bought in 1978 and cooked until 1983.

Christian then went on to study wine in 1984 before moving to the UK in May 85 where he started working in the wine trade. In 1988 he created H&H wines which sold to Bancroft in late 99 where he continued on in his capacity as head wine buyer. To this day Christian has more than 25 years’ experience in bringing quality wines to top restaurants and hotels across the UK.

Such is his recognition for skill in sourcing quality wines that he judged for many years at the IWC, and has been requested on the Decanter World Wine Awards judging panels annually since 2005 as a consistent reference due to his tasting capabilities.

Cedric Chauvet, London On-Trade Sales

@ced_chauvet

When one is born and raised in the middle of the vineyards of the Southern Rhône, you can hardly avoid the wine industry! Cedric became familiar with wine on his family estate near Gigondas, but it was during a stay in London when he decided to make his passion for wine his profession. This was the beginning of his adventure in the London hospitality industry, first as Sommelier and then as Restaurant Manager – Wine Buyer.

Cedric met Matt and Christian whilst he was a sommelier at The Boundary Restaurant in Shoreditch and kept in contact with H2Vin at the different restaurants he worked at afterwards. When an opportunity arose in 2013 for him to join the team, he jumped at the chance. He now uses his experience of the hospitality industry to look after the On-Trade customers at H2Vin.

Miranda Fong, London Trade & Private Client Sales

@vanderfong

Miranda had always dreamed of working with food and wine growing up in a food obsessed family. After completing her science degree, she traded in her lab coat for a chef’s jacket and completed her Diploma in Food & Beverage Management. After a few years and many cuts and burns, she decided to pursue a career in the wine industry by joining Stratus Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake where she was recognised as a Top 30 Under 30. Her time there sparked a thirst for knowledge that led her to Australia, where she completed her Masters in Wine Business at the University of Adelaide in 2011.

Ready for a new challenge, she moved to London 10 days later and eventually joined the award-winning wine merchant Bottle Apostle while completing her WSET Diploma. During her five years with the company, she managed all aspects of marketing and business development, assisted with buying, managed the wholesale business; all while helping to open three additional London shops.

Her aim to engage with as many facets of the wine industry as possible led to her H2Vin in 2016 where she uses her experience in the trade to manage the company’s UK off-trade customers.

Antoine Salley, Sales Support & Marketing Coordinator

@antoine_salley

Coming from the South-West of France with one foot in Chablis, Antoine has always been attracted by the Food & Wine Industry.

While studying the business of wine in the Loire and the Rhône Valley, he worked as a Trade Marketing Executive for the Pioneer Indian Wine Company, Grover-Zampa, training staff at Premium Hotels and Restaurants in Southern India. He also worked at the Mas Amiel estate in the Roussillon. After a first experience in London at The Sampler Wine Merchant, he completed his Master’s Degree in International Business of Wine at the University of Avignon, his WSET Advanced and Intermediate Certificates (both awarded with Distinctions) and decided to return to London.

Once back in the UK, Antoine worked at the whisky bar, Milroy’s of Soho, another passion, but his true attachment to artisan wines led him to join H2Vin’s team in 2016. Antoine is now taking care of the Sales and Marketing Support.
