South Africa

From Wikipedia:

South African wine has a history dating back to 1659. At one time Constantia, a vineyard near Cape Town was considered one of the greatest wines in the world. Access to international markets has unleashed a burst of new energy and new investment. Production is concentrated around Cape Town, with major vineyard and production centres at Paarl, Stellenbosch and Worcester.

Weathered Hands Pinotage
Vintage: 2012
Country: South Africa
Region: Swartland
Colour: Red
Grape: 100% Pinotage
Size: 75cl

Coming from 40-year-old dry-farmed bush vines in Paardeberg in Swartland, Pinotage ‘Weathered Hands’ Dewaldt Heyns 2012 is gloriously aromatic with intense menthol-tinged dark berry fruits on the nose. Full bodied with ripe tannins and wonderfully concetrated, this shows quite how fantastic Swartland Pinotage can be!
